Income Tax Department Kerala

The Income Tax Department of India is divided into 19 regions, each led by an officer of the rank of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Pr. CCIT). The Kerala Region, under the jurisdiction of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, is responsible for overseeing all Income tax-related matters within the State of Kerala.

The Income Tax Department Kerala Region consists of several key offices, including:

  • 01 Territorial Pr. Chief Commissioner of Income Tax
  • 01 Chief Commissioner of Income Tax
  • 01 Director General of Income Tax (Investigation)
  • 08 Pr. Commissioners of Income Tax
  • 13 Commissioners of Income Tax

All these offices are involved not only with budget collection, but also other aspects of operations management.

The Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, stationed in Kochi, serves as the Cadre Controlling Authority for the region and has jurisdiction over all its offices. The Director General of Income Tax (Investigation) supervises the Directorate responsible for conducting search and seizure operations and monitoring assessments related to such cases in the Central Circles.
